Miami in the Finals

I got a HD Digital Box (I don't have an HDTV though!) from Telus with numerous channels which many of them are free for the first month. I got 4 Movie Channel, NBA TV and many many more. I haven't watched a decent movie on those channels yet. They have been all garbage so far but enjoyed a lot from watching NBA Playoffs.

Miami Heat was in Chicago for the 5th game of the Eastern Conference and they won the series 4-1 eventually the other night. Chicago Bulls won the first three quarters and they were almost 10 points ahead of Miami until the last 2 minutes of the game. I had seen the other games of these two and I should say that none of the big stars of Miami were themselves that night. James had probably more than 8 misses. Wane's balls were stolen a few time and he had many missed shots as well. Bosh barely could come off Boozer's or Noah's shadow. But the last two minutes of game was amazing. James and Wane had 3-pointers and 2-pointers and Rose from Chicago missed an important penalty shot which eventually led to Miami's win, a 83-80 one. The Heat will face the Mavericks in the Finals.

A New Type of Fraud

we've been looking for a nice place since we moved into this damn apartment! This is just a dump, like many other apartments in Calgary and in general in Canada! They are mostly old, dating back to 60s or 70s, wood framed with annoying noises, thin walls that you can here the neighbours and outside, you name it! In fact anything less than $1200 a month is not a place to live in.
So we look around the net everyday and check websites. There's this new wave of fraud through rentals that the person says that he or she is somewhere far away, usually in Africa on a religious mission and asks you to send him or her a cheque or money through Western Union or so.
Someone should be so stupid to be tricked by these e-mails but since there're many such people I decided to reveal the truth. The funny thing is most of the ads are so obvious that a wise person would say It's Too Good To Be True as soon as see it but they're trying! So beware. We have come across 3 of these assholes so far.

End of the Battle

I eventually bought insurance for my vehicle yesterday after 2 weeks of arguing with different insurance companies. You'd be amazed if I told you with whom I ended up with: ICBC! My insurance for 6 month is $981 which is way better than many quotes that I had but I had to pay a big ticket I had received: $598!
It's much better because I won't have the hassle of the damn Out of Province Inspection, re-registration and all those stupid paperwork again. Just the damn inspection would cost me around $130! I am not sure but I think I still have unpaid tickets from 2007 and before and those could be on the top of everything else!
The question here is what would happen if I renewed every year? It's so easy. All I have to do is just to go to the closest Autoplan and give a British Columbia address! Won't people take a vacation once a year? That could be in B. C.!

Benefits and Disadvantages of Coffee

I've written about coffee several time but I believe that most of the stuff we drink here in North America is not pure coffee! They blend different things including chemicals and essences and sell as coffee starting $1.5 at least. Coffee companies, though compete to sell more of this coffee-like stuff on daily basis and as I said there are lots of them.

At the same time there are others who either are looking for fame or just doing a trail and error. Once it's said that coffee is dangerous because it causes brain stroke. In a week you here that they say coffee is good for prostate cancer! So what the hell? Am I supposed to drink the damn thing or not after all?

I personally only drink McDonald's but even that one was stopped by me. I save a lot now! I simply buy a can for about $6 and have it for a month or even more. Nabob is the one that I'm stuck to but I will change it as soon as I find a rel coffee, even if it's more expensive.

(Photo: A cup of Joe like this is barely served in Canada. They are usually in big paper cups of mugs and loaded with cream or milk. Not to mention the amount of artificial sweetener added!)

Multiculturalism Does Not Work

There's this fantastic Radio Show that I listen to at times when I'm driving. Unfortunately I don't know the name of the guy but will find out soon. They always discuss the current issues of the country. Today's was immigration and multiculturalism.

The guy was warning against the imminent danger that the country might face from immigrants and refugees, mainly because they can't adopt themselves to Canadian culture, if there's any, someone else in the show stated! Then one of them said that Denmark has recently constituted a law which pays the refugees to go to their homeland and the amount was considerable. I should check with my cousin, P. H. He has been living there for over 20 years and he's Danish now. His wife is Danish and both of his kids speak Danish and barely understand Persian. I think this law, if enforced, is good 'cause some of the refugees and immigrants cause nothing but trouble for the country. Remember the conflict between Israel and Lebanon, in fact Hezbollah, a few years ago? Many Lebanese were in there living their daily life and as soon as felt unsafe all became Canadian and hoist their passport! The Government had to sent a ship to bring them all over here and who know how much that cost! All because they have Canadian passport while in fact don't give a damn about Canada!

In other words if multiculturalism worked, we would never have different neighbourhoods in different cities and towns here. How would you expect a Punjabi associate with a Chinese? They are from two completely different background and culture. The only thing they have in common is that they both came here for money! But that doesn't get them close enough!

Would you like your Rib prepared like this? Bell Pepper, While Onion and side salad with Beef Rib. Add some Whole Grain Rice or Pita if you're really hungry. It's good. Believe me!

Ignorant Crooks of Brit"SHIT" Columbia

I've seen many motherfucker crooks and fraudulent people in my life but these pieces of stinky crap motherfucker animals of Ignorant Crooks of Brit"SHIT" Columbia (ICBC) are the worst in the entire world. You think burglars who break and enter are criminals? You think CRA has been recently involved in fraud? You think Qaddafi and Mubarak stole billions from their own people? ICBC, the Ignorant Crooks of Brit"SHIT" Columbia is much worse.Someone explains to me that what kind of democracy it is that people are forced to have their vehicle insurance with one and only one company?
I was reading this book for my N. P. P. E. and came across the term Duress which means when someone is forced and threatened to do something as a part of a contract. What kind of law is being practiced in this country that people are forced to have a contract with a company only?! You call countries like Pakistan, Syria and Libya dictatorships? What kind of administration Government of Brit"SHIT" Columbia's is?
Apparently people are so fucking busy with their six pack, their Marijuana cigar or NHL Playoffs and all of them are shut. Is there anybody who speaks up?!
(Photo: ICBC Logo. The road the ICBC people take is the road which takes them to lots of money and easy retirement. The road the customer take is the road to bankruptcy, loss and frustration)

Sanshiro Sugata

It had been a very long time that I was looking for these Kurosawa movies until I found them last week for a reasonable price. Actually I had found them, as I wrote before, in HMV but this used video store, Bird Dog has a Out of Business Sale so I found 4 movies in a pack, all from Kurosawa and one German that I heard about in 2008 or 09. I'll wrote about the German one because I haven,t watched that yet but Sanshiro Sugota which is one of the first Kurosawa movies was interesting.
The movie is about how martial arts develops in Japan and the Sanshiro travels through this development era.
I always liked martial arts but not all of them. My favorite has been always Judo and that's what the story is about. The DVD provider or actually I think it is the movie provider, states at the beginning that the movie has been modified from the original copy without the director's consent because he was not available to provide them with a better copy or give them the permission. But the movie has fine picture and sound and of course it is in its original Japanese language but has the caption. I believe that's extraordinary for a movie which was made in 1943!
(Photo: A match between Sanshiro the Representative of Judo and another fighter, a representative of Jujitsu, is a one-way match. Sugota throws the guy on the floor over and over until he is not able to stand on his feet any more and is defeated)

Another 1-year Deferral

I tried to have my file either transferred or activated shortly after I moved to Calgary. Regina did not do much. An officer from Pacific Division worked on it and eventually deferred me for one year! I don't know what would be the point of re-applying especially because I have to write the damn exam again!
The reason for deferral was my financial struggle with the company behind Future Shop Card. That took more than a year or so and eventually was settled down for as low as $260 but cost me a life-time opportunity that might not present itself again.
