I received an e-mail from the young fella indicating he had decided to go with another candidate about a week after the interview. I think one of the factors contributing to his decision was the fact that I had told him I was still working! It sometimes works better because you don't seem desperate and pathetic! He said, during the interview, that one of the previous team members had come back and I and him were the last candidates. I think that is what he wanted to say in the e-mail: The other fella has been selected.
I then received a call a few days back but before reaching the phone, it was hung up. Then I checked the e-mail the same day and saw he was saying that the selected guy had decided not to work for the company and he wants me back! Fair enough! I'd be happy to. It's just the fact that I need to settle with my current employer, I wrote. I received the offer letter shortly and I have to say that the benefits were attractive. He, however, I realized, that had slashed a dollar from what we negotiated(!), if I can say, during an interview. It is supposed to be an hourly job, with some overtime and a dollar will result in less $2000 annually! Now I'm waiting for the other job offer, if it comes, so I can make a wise decision.
(Photo: The term recalled usually is associated with calling some food items, which there is a possibility of contamination with some bacteria or something. It happens from time to time in North America and I've seen different things, from ground beef to Romaine Lettuce. I thought to use that for a post photo here. I couldn't think of anything else. I hope the food industry guys are not offended!)
